Generations of Education: 2017 Urban Hope Scholarship Banquet

On Sunday, March 5th, we were blessed to honor three of our young heroes at our annual Urban Hope Scholarship Banquet. Jimaune Williams (UNC-Charlotte), Jahzamire Coggins (Durham Tech), and Steve Melvin, Jr. (NC A&T) all received a $500 scholarship to further their educational goals. As high school students, they all participated in the Urban Hope Summer Camp, as both campers and counselors-in-training. This summer, Jimaune will come back to Walltown and serve as a camp counselor, living in The Alexander House with the rest of our staff. It's an honor to be able to support young people who demonstrate a commitment to bettering themselves and serving their community!
